Suruga Take-Sensuji Zaiku "Temoto-kago (kodai)"

"Temoto-kago" is a lidded bamboo basket, perfect for holding small treasures. The body is woven from fine bamboo strips arranged vertically, creating a look that is both delicate and clean.

The lid features a woven pattern with black accents that bring out the bamboo's natural, soft tone. The interior base is finished with ajiro weaving, offering a delightful contrast in texture each time the lid is opened — a piece where every detail has been carefully considered.

Ideal for storing small items, tea utensils, or accessories, and equally lovely as a decorative accent on its own. Its warm bamboo presence blends effortlessly into both traditional Japanese interiors and modern spaces. A beautifully handcrafted piece that reveals the care of skilled hands every time you open the lid.

Artisan's comment:
A lidded storage basket with an antique bamboo frame. The decoratively woven lid can be lifted off, letting the basket double as a container for small items.
